Matsu Chemicals' business was structured based on Pine Chemicals.<\/h3>\n

The term \"pine chemicals\" refers to rosin, fatty acids, turpentine, and other useful chemical substances obtained from pine trees.<\/p>\n

We consider pine a gift from nature, our valued partner. Therefore, we strive to find a harmonious balance between technology and nature in efforts to maximize the use of the chemical resources it can offer.<\/p>\n

Pine trees are remarkably renewable natural resources.<\/h3>\n

Unlike fossil fuels such as oil and coal, which will eventually run out, reforestation makes pine a truly renewable resource, with a life cycle of 20 to 30 years. Our business involves taking the numerous chemical resources offered by the tree and developing them into a range of products that span from resins and various additives used in papermaking, to electronic materials and other everyday useful materials.<\/p>\n

Types of resin<\/h3>\n

Colophony is classified into three types, based on the extraction method:<\/p>\n

Gum resin rosin (informally known as rosin) is obtained by distilling raw gum collected from living pine trees. It is the oldest and most widely consumed resin in the world today.<\/p>\n

Tall oil rosin is obtained by distilling tal oil, which is a co-product of the kraft pulp manufacturing process. The term tal oil comes from the Swedish word... Talloja<\/em>, which means \"pine oil\".<\/p>\n
