Mr. Sueyoshi Hasegawa, president of HARIMA Japan, came to Brazil as president of the Kakogawa Chamber of Commerce to visit Maringá (Kakogawa's sister city). During his visit to the region, he noticed the existence of several pine plantations and decided to establish a HARIMA branch in Brazil.
HARIMA DO BRASIL was founded in August in São Paulo, Brazil.
The installation of HARIMA DO PARANÁ began in January in the city of Ponta Grossa-PR, in an area of 330,000 m².
HARIMA DO PARANÁ will begin operations in February.
The merger of HARIMA DO BRASIL with HARIMA DO PARANÁ, by Mr. Minoru Homma, resulted in the creation of HARIMA DO BRASIL INDÚSTRIA QUÍMICA LTDA.
In June, Mr. Eiji Moroizumi will assume the presidency.
In July, Mr. Atsuo Fujishita will assume the presidency.
In February, Mr. Tetsunori Kawakami will assume the presidency.
In August, Mr. Keiji Fukutsuka will assume the presidency.
In June, Mr. Tetsunori Kawakami returns to the presidency.
In June, the company underwent a restructuring and began operating as an independent unit, changing its name to MATSU CHEMICALS INDÚSTRIA LTDA, continuing under the direction of three Brazilian executives: Mr. Ademir Fornazari Junior, Mr. Mamoru Miyasaka, and Mr. Rodrigo Keity Kuratomi, initiating a new strategic management, but with the 50-year tradition of producing "pine chemistry" in Brazil.
